Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their status as important members in the powerful family could enable the party reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Strategists tables.
